While comfort should be the only deciding factor when buying plus size sports bras, unfortunately most of us come up with budget constraints.
Realistically, good, branded plus sized sports bras range anything between $29 to $90. The figleaves collection, better known as the ‘Oprah Bras’ is priced between $25 and $46. To stay in your budget and yet afford a high end brand name, here are a few tips:
- Figure out your bra size and go online!
- Make the rounds of your local mall or favorite retailers and make a note of the brassieres that you like and want. Keep these in mind when the sales hit, and then shop till you drop!
- Subscribe to online newsletter and notifications for discounts and sales. Lane Bryant, Torrid, Avenue, Victoria’s Secret, Wacoal, Old Navy and OneStopPlus are good places to start your online hunt. These subscriptions will often send you discount coupons and make note of the brassieres you take an interest in. This way they will be able to offer you better promotional discounts and you too will get a chance to shop within your budget.
- Go to the factory outlets. Here, you get the same bras that you would find at the retail outlet, but often with a price difference of up to 30%. This is a substantial windfall gain for anybody tight on their budget.
- Keep scouting your local shops and malls for unannounced clearance sales. These mostly happen at the end of the season, so be especially aware around the end of July and January for these seasonal clearance sales. You will often find great buys here.
- eBay can be a very resourceful tool here. Browse around often and you are bound to find sports bras in your size that someone else is selling. Just make sure the shipping and handling cost doesn’t overpower the size of your savings.
