Pantyhose have become a major constituent of women’s hosiery, being full-legged from waist to feet, unlike stockings which require suspenders. For larger women, stockings can provide ease and flexibility, and also allow ventilation in the crotch area which does not cause any bacterial growth. While pantyhose are convenient, they do not allow air to circulate, making the crotch area humid and more prone to fungal growth. The disadvantage of knee high tights and stockings is that they need garters as supporting accessory which can at times cause annoyance and leave temporary redness on the loose skin of plus sized women.
